July 15: New Hotels are added
Two more hotels added to the hotel and accommodation page of ICFM5 website. Please make sure you booked a room before your arrival and let us know if ICFM5 Secretariat can do any help you for your reservation. July 15: Booth Exhibition at ICFM5

July 7: Full Paper Submission Option
The deadline for full paper submission is August 15, 2011. Please note that submission of the full paper is optional and author of all accepted abstracts have the opportunity to make a presentation at ICFM5 without submitting the full paper.

June 29: Acceptance letters 
We are pleased to inform you that by the end of the deadline for abstract submission, we received about 400 abstracts from 50 nations covering all five topic areas of the ICFM5. All submitted abstracts have been reviewed by our International Technical Committee and we sent the acceptance letter for the selected abstracts.

June 29: Accommodation and Visa Support  (Important)
The ICFM5 secretariat recommended a few hotels in Akihabara in waking distance to the conference venue on 28 and 29 September. We will also provide visa supporting documents for participants with accepted abstracts and completed registration including co-authors and accompanying persons.

June 9: Announcement on Change in ICFM5 Venue (Important)
The ICFM5 Secretariat at ICHARM would like to inform you the following important announcements regarding change in ICFM5 technical program, change in Conference Venue and extension of the ICFM5 early-bird registration: 
1- New Special Sessions “Coping with Water-related Mega-Disasters”: In order to discuss and share lessons learned and best practices on emergency response and recovery from mega-disasters, the ICFM5 Secretariat decided to include special sessions to share latest experiences and lessons on the mega-tsunami in Japan (March 11, 2011) and other recent hydro-meteorological catastrophes in the world by inviting high-level decision-makers, experts and officials. There is no change in the registration fee and all ICFM5 participants are invited to join these special sessions. 
2- Change in the Conference venue: The ICFM5 Secretariat at ICHARM decided to move the ICFM5 venue from Tsukuba to Tokyo at UNU (United Nations University) in Aoyama for the 1st day and at UDX in Akihabara for the 2nd and the 3rd days. The date is fixed on 27-29 September 2011 as before. We hope the change in venue would help promoting more participants internationally as well as nationally.
